I might be impartial as this was the first major credit card I was approved for, but several years later and it’s still earning its place in my wallet - and handily punching above its weight, I might add. Before we start, let me dispel a rumor: Discover is worth your time and you'll be hard pressed to find a vendor in the United States where you cannot swipe it. I hope this article helps to convey my love for such a well performing card, and that you consider it as an addition to your wallet - whether your first card or your fifth.

Many hear an Annual Fee of $550 and immediately balk at this perceived waste of money, but in reality, this sector of Premium Credit Cards offers immense value for your money. Here at From the Window Seat, we define a Premium Credit Card as any with an Annual Fee greater than $400 and the two that immediately come to the mind of most are the American Express Platinum Card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

A little over a year ago, I added the AMEX Platinum to my wallet, along with the Chase Sapphire Reserve that I’ve had for a number of years. I was enticed by a targeted Welcome Bonus of 100,000 Points, and decided to give it a whirl.
